Public Disclosure Policy

Disqualification Rule

A person who has entered into or contracted a marriage with a person having a spouse living, or who having a spouse living has entered into or contracted a marriage with any person, shall be disqualified unless exempted by Central Government.

Important Warnings

UPSC CSE is one of the toughest competitive examinations in the world — requires 12-18 months of focused preparation.
CSAT Paper-II is qualifying only — do not neglect it but focus on Paper-I for ranking.
Optional subject choice can significantly impact marks — choose based on interest, scoring potential, and overlap with GS.
Answer writing practice is essential for Mains — mere knowledge is not sufficient.
Interview (Personality Test) tests personality, not knowledge — DAF form becomes the basis for many questions.
Number of attempts is limited — plan your preparation strategy accordingly.
Mere passing the examination does not guarantee preferred service — final allocation depends on rank, vacancies, and preferences.
Selection does not confer any right of appointment unless the Government is satisfied about character and antecedents.
